BLUE VOYAGE GULET CRUISES

When travelers ask advice about which coastal areas are best in Turkey, we suggest the Lycian Coast, especially between Kas and Antalya. It is unspoiled and packed with historical ruins, beautiful beaches, pine forests, mountains and myths.

The Lycians, who inhabited the mountainous coast east of Marmaris, were a courageous and fierce breed of seagoers who lived about two thousand  years ago. More than anything, the Lycians revered their predecessors and carved magnificent tombs similar to their homes in the faces of the mountains and cliffs all over southwest Turkey.

The western part of the Mediterranean Turkish Coast is full of charming resorts, sunken cities under the water, pirate coves and secluded bays. It is also the home of St. Nicholas (Santa Claus) who was born in Patara and lived in Myra in the 4th century.

The best way to visit this region is with a Blue Voyage Gulet Cruise. The Blue Voyage evolved from a trip in a sponge diver's caique to a journey in a luxurious gulet. Most gulets are 48 to 67 ft long (14-21m), wooden-framed yachts with a rounded stern. They will have from one to ten double cabins, sometimes with upper bunks.

Unlike yachting holidays in other parts of the world, it is a pilgrimage through thousands of years in history. This is why we named one of our gulets  "Mare Nostrum" (Latin: Our Sea), which is what the Mediterranean was called during the Roman Empire.

Blue voyagers have opportunities to go at their own pace, see the culture and discover amazing things on their own. They share meals "alfresco,"  good times together and are pampered by the crew. The incredible impact of this adventure can't be described in words. The total relaxation, the  most beautiful colors of the sea and sky. An encounter of a lifetime!
