The
Angora house is conveniently located near
the citadel of Ankara and Museum of
Anatolian Civilizations. The Angora house is
tucked in a small back street. The hosts,
Muammer and Ahmet renovated this old house,
a 19th century half-timbered mansion. The
house once belonged to Sakir Pasa, one of
the first members of the Turkish National
Assembly. The interior is decorated with
antique furnishings from the period and is a
harmony of stone, wood and old hand-woven
carpets. The large rooms feature private
bath and central heating and there is a
small garden.
