Information about Bursa, Turkey
The industrial and agricultural city of Bursa was the capital city of the Ottoman Empire. It is also a famous tourism center with the Uludag Ski Center (you may go up by cable car and not just for skiing) and the thermal spas of Cekirge. It takes about 4 hours by bus to reach Bursa from Istanbul and there is no airport. You will want to visit the lively silk market and the Ulu (Great Mosque) with its fountain in the center also numerous tombs and other mosques. Bursa is also famous for its "Iskender" Kebab with yogurt. Sites around Bursa include Iznik (ancient Nicaea), Uludag Mountain, Cumalikizik Village, Mudanya and Trilye.
