Information about Canakkale and Gallipoli, Turkey
The town of Canakkale is located on the most strategic position of the Dardanelles. It is across from the Gallipoli Peninsula, which is visited by many tourists, especially around Anzac Day in April to see the famous WWI battlefields and trenches. Canakkale itself is a pleasant town on the water, which offers a number of restaurants and pubs, and seaside cafes. Canakkale is convenient for a visit of Troy and Gallipoli or even Assos.
