Grand (Buyuk) Kervansaray Hotel in Diyarbakir is a converted caravanserai and it is also known by the name of “Deliller Han”. The caravanserai was built in the mid 16th century by the second governor of Diyarbakir Husrev Pasha to serve to the merchants who were traveling. The Han was built with a mosque and Medrese (Islamic school), and was part of a pious foundation complex too. This caravanserai had 72 rooms, 17 shops and a stall with space for up to 800 camels. Grand Kervansaray was built with attractive black and white stones from local area and Sanliurfa. This historical place had been used as a bazaar, but was restored in 1988 and now is a hotel giving service to guests from around the world. The Grand

Diyarbakir Kervansaray Hotel preserves the historical structure of the building and now offers 29 double rooms, 15 suites, and one single room.
