ISTANBUL IMPERIAL AND BOSPHORUS TOUR
(FULL-DAY– EXCEPT ON
MONDAY) |

8:10 – 8:45 Departure from your hotel. Today we
will visit the Saint Sophia (Haghia
Sofia) which was built by the emperor Justinian
in the 6th century A.D and stands over much
older remains of a church. See beautiful mosaics
of biblical scenes and the Byzantine emperors
and empresses. (On Mondays we see the Chora
Church instead). We continue to the Blue
Mosque, which was built

in the 17th century and is the only imperial
mosque with 6 minarets. We
walk to the Hippodrome, a stadium and
meeting place in Byzantine times. See the
Serpent Pillar from Delphi and the
Egyptian Obelisk, also the fountain of
Wilhelm. Explore the Grand Bazaar, which
was over 4000 shops full of treasures (Closed on
Sunday). We will have lunch then drive to
Sariyer along the European shore of the
Bosphorus Straight passing through charming
towns with decorated 19th century houses before
cruising down the Bosphorus. We will see
Palaces, villas, Rumeli and Anadolu Fortresses
from the boat. We conclude the tour at the
“Egyptian” Spice Market where you can shop for
spices and unique souvenirs. Return to your
hotel around 17:30. *Notes: Cruise may be done
by regular or private boat - Spice Market is
closed Sunday.
