Antik
Tatlidede Konagi Hotel is a converted
historical house located in the center of
Mardin in a quiet area near the great mosque.
Part of the stone building is over 500 years
old and is decorated with beautiful
ornamental work. The building was originally
owned by a Suryani family and it is said
that while playing in the courtyard their
children found a ceramic jar with Hungarian
gold coins. For this reason they were able
to build the upper building. In 1997 the
Tatlidede family bought and restored the
buildings making them into a boutique hotel
by 2007. Mardin Antik Tatlidede Hotel
features 12 standard rooms and 4 suites with
A/C, mini-bar, television, free internet
connection, telephone and private toilet and
shower. There is also a restaurant in the
hotel. |
