We are looking forward to one of the most exciting years for travel to Turkey, and for those of you who couldn’t make it, or who have been longing to return Istanbul has been elected Cultural Capital of Europe in 2010

Istanbul is good for a visit at any time of the year but seeing the tulips in bloom in April or going to the Hidrellez spring festival on 5 May are two early year events to make coming worthwhile. The history of Istanbul is unfolding as we speak. No visit is complete without seeing the Istanbul Archaeological Museum which now houses a new exhibition of the finds from recent work on the new Istanbul metro system as well as many other incredible finds from Turkey and the near east. In Yenikapi an ancient harbor with ships “in situ” is now being excavated with care, and in addition the Byzantine Magnaura Palace is now coming to light behind the Four Seasons Hotel as well as the tombs of the Sultans at the St Sophia which have been restored and are now open to the public.

Don’t be afraid of inflated prices. Our tours, packages and hotel prices are being offered at the same price or with very little increase over 2009 in honor of our 10th year anniversary!

Istanbul is only your first stop. For those who have never seen the Terrace Houses of Ephesus, still coming to light by excavation, or the magical lunar landscape of Cappadocia or those of you who have never seen the unspoiled Lycian coast and Mediterranean Turkey, or felt the pure pleasure of the sea and sun by gulet cruise, we definitely recommend a visit.
