Our trip to Turkey was wonderful. thank you for your help. we enjoyed everything very much. the car worked out very well and we enjoyed the drive. We found it to be very easy, the roads were good and well marked. Driving in Antalya was not so nice but we loved the old town. turkey is very beautiful and everyone was nice to us wherever we went.

Hi Rina,
The tour was excellent. We were lucky to have a small group of very nice people. The van was comfortable, we had a very good driver who made us feel at ease during the trip and Erol was a great tour guide. He was very attentive to our needs and certainly knows his history. We also enjoyed his sense of humour. The hotels most of the time were reasonable, particularly as were were only there overnight most nights.

I thought the highlight was Cappadocia. It was such an interesting and beautiful place and the Gamirasu Cave Hotel where we stayed was exceptional. It was so beautiful with beautiful surroundings and the dinner was the best.

It was a busy tour but had to be to cover all the places we visited. All in all I thought it was a great tour and it helped having such nice people, including Erol and the driver with us all the way.

Sorry, I had meant to write to you soon as we got back to tell you that we were pleasantly surprised at how the trip turned out to be beyond our expectations! Much of the thanks go to you for making such smooth arrangements. The tour guide, hotels and meals were very good. The pace of the tour and the people on our tour were excellent.
We have never taken bus tours and were not really keen to be on a bus tour, but this one definitely made us change our views on bus tours and was a most enjoyable experience. Thanks again, and we will certainly be recommending your services to any of our friends who decide to go to Turkey for a vacation.

We had a really lovely holiday in Turkey and I will definitely book with you again next time we go. the hotel in Bodrum (Su) was really very nice, clean, comfortable and friendly. The Mountain Lodge was FABULOUS and I wish we could have spent more time there - we would definitely want to stay there again on any future trip to Turkey. I would not hesitate to recommend either hotel but the Mountain Lodge was perhaps exceptional.

We also had a great day on the cruise. Thank you again for all your unstinting hospitality in Kas. Everything was beautifully organized even the crazy 2.30am transfer to Ataturk Airport last Saturday morning. Ismet was a very knowledgeable and personable guide and 'Nedo' was a wonderfully resourceful driver who organized lots of little treats that we wouldn't otherwise have experienced. We loved his comfortable new Mercedes van. The sights and sites were fantastic. Turkey is a stunningly beautiful country and Istanbul is truly one of the world's great cities. The tour was fabulous and the whole experience was unforgettable! Please rest assured that we have already started telling friends, family, neighbors and colleagues at work that if they ever wish to visit Turkey that they should first and foremost check out Insight Travel. This is the third that Erol has done for me and I have known him for about 6 years now. I am happy with his work. If I see any problems arising then I run interference for both the people in my group and for Erol. It works well as I can usually see it coming.

I will be happy to work with you again in 2 years time. I bring a tour over every 2 years, although Erol would like it to be every year. Personally I would too, but I just get too busy.

Mustapha, the driver was a real treasure. He looked after us as well.

We are now back from our holidays and Turkey was definitely a highlight. Our tour guide Suleyman was excellent. He certainly new his history and made it come alive.

The travel arrangements were well executed and the driver was very good. We covered a lot of territory, I believe something like 2100 km. so by the end we were glad to relax for a couple of days. We enjoyed the variety of accommodations that we had stayed at thru out the trip. Nothing was too much trouble for our guide or driver and with only 3 of us we got undivided attention. It was an excellent tour and I would definitely recommend it to others.

First off, thanks so much for doing a really great job of arranging our trip. Because I normally prefer to book all of my own travel, I have only used a travel agent once in the last 10 years (and it turned out horribly). My experience with you and your partners was outstanding. I will have no problem recommending Insight Travel to anyone booking a trip to Turkey. Pretty much everything went smoothly – or at least everything that you could have anticipated.

All of the hotels were great. We particularly liked the Su Hotel in Bodrum, followed closely by the Megara in Istanbul. All of the guides were top notch.

I was very impressed with the way everything went, I have been to a lot of countries and been on lots of excursions but don't think I have ever been so impressed with the way the trips were all run for us during our stay in Turkey .. it was the military like precision in which everything was carried out that I found impressive no waiting around , no I'm sorry we don't have you down on our list ..( all things that I have encountered in previous countries )

The guide in Troy really enjoyed his work and it showed in the way he conducted his tour , but all the guides were very good.
If you want a negative then possibly the hotel on the first night was a bit noisy as we were on the first floor right above the air con generators but on our return visit to the hotel we had a different room and it was much quieter.

so , very happy all in all and thanks for arranging the trips for us

We had a really good trip. Thank you for all of your arrangements. The hotel was great. I see what you mean about the steps! It is quite a climb - but really very nice. We got some really good photos. I will let you know when I put them up on my web site. 
I am doing a talk on Turkey at our camera club next week - I have entered a few of my previous Cappadocia photos at the club, and the people were so interested in the photos, that they asked me to do a talk. Hope you get more clients!
Hopefully I will be able to do another trip to Turkey so time. It is one of my favorite travel destinations!

On behalf of the entire group of families, I want to thank you for such a tremendous trip to Turkey. Every detail was handled perfectly and we were thrilled with our guides and accommodations. But I must say the gulet 'Grand Acar' was far beyond our expectations. The captain was charming and flexible, the crew attentive but not intrusive and the cook was outstanding! Thirteen people were pleasantly surprised by the delicious meals served 3 times a day. We couldn't have been happier.
We were also fortunate that the weather was so mild that our dear friends the Millers did not need to leave the boat early. The boat was gorgeous and the ride incredibly smooth.

Thank you again for making our trip so memorable. I will happily refer you to our friends.

I had a terrific time, everything went like clockwork. The hotel was just what I ordered. The owner - Farouk - even gave me a lift to the bus station to catch the bus to Fethiye on his scooter - suitcase, me and backpack hanging on for dear life! Sadly no photograph.

The guides were very good, particularly Farouk who had a terrific depth of knowledge not just about Cappadocia but also Turkey's history. Birsen was great and as there were only a few of us on the two days she was my guide, the group was able to get to know each other.

Met quite a few people during my stay in Goreme and hope to keep in touch with some of them.

Rina, I wanted to let you know our guide for Istanbul, Erol, was wonderful. He made extremely efficient use of our time and gave us good pointers for great photo vantage points. We were extremely happy with his services.
Everything was fine with Ephesus and Priene and others. I went on the Priene and 2 others sites tour. The guide and bus were waiting for us when our ship arrived, our guide was young but worked hard and was enthusiastic.
The driver for the Priene and other sites tour that I was on deserve praise for his excellent service.

We are finally home and slowly recovering from jetlag. I wanted to tell you how amazing our time in Turkey was - totally thanks to you. Every little detail of your organisation worked so well. Every hotel, every transfer, bus trip, group tour, private guide, connections - absolutely wonderful. So thank you very much for making Turkey such a fantastic, surprising, amazing adventure for us. We loved learning about the ancient as well as more modern history. The ruins and the stories behind them were incredible. The people everywhere were friendly, hospitable and helpful. We loved the coast, particularly Kas. Our very long day tour of Gallipoli was wonderful - we had a great guide who made it a very moving experience. And of course Istanbul is an amazingly vibrant city.
We hope to return someday. Again thank you so very much for your fantastic help.

(I must tell you that I read a fantastic novel while I was there which was set in the area around Fethiye called "Birds without wings" by Louis de Bernieres. It is a great story as well as giving lots of the history of WW1 and the war of Independence and the biography of Ataturk. It was amazing to learn the facts during the day and then reading the fiction at night. Both complemented each other and really added to my enjoyment of the country.)

Itinerary: Small Group Bosphorus Cruise with Dolmabahce Palace Tour

Hi Rina,

We enjoyed our day-tour of the Bosphorus and Dolmabahce Palace very much. Our guide was very professional and knowledgeable. Since the Egyptian Market is closed on Sunday, he took us to a local bazaar which was a great shopping opportunity and fun too. As it turned out, no one else joined our group of 6 people, so it really became our private tour. We chose that tour as my husband and I have been to many of the “must see” places in Istanbul and this tour took us to places new to us as well as to our friends. The park at Camlica Hill is a treasure. We were able to observe “real” Turks enjoying their Sunday picnic and a wedding couple. Riding the ferry was an inexpensive and fun way to see the palaces and shoreline of the Bosphorus. Our guests were fascinated by the Whirling Dervishes too. A word of advice there is to arrive early as seats fill up quickly.

We’ll contact you when we bring our friends who couldn’t make it this trip.

Itinerary: Pergamon Tour

Dear Rina, Yes, I was planning to write you to provide some feedback. Overall, it was a good tour, and the drop off at Izmir's airport worked out perfectly. I can and will recommend it to others. The guide was fine, and the driver drove securely and safely. Lunch was ample and tasty. The location of the acropolis and theater is stupendous, together with the wild flowers and blooming thistles, it was a photographic paradise of views and colors, but not enough time to savor it. Even with the other tour the viewing time available was for me often a bit short, not enough time to read some of the informational signs, revisit some spots, look at my notes,

or take more detailed pictures rather than just quick, general snapshots. I suppose, if I wanted to do that I would need to plan my own personalized tour, though at this time I still would prefer to leave the transportation and hotel arrangements to others. I would like to look into that though. Still, for my first introduction to western Turkey I had a wonderful time with lots of "Wow" moments that I am writing down. Many of these also involved enjoying the hospitality and friendliness of the Turkish people. Thank you for your excellent help organizing this part of my trip! Best regards, Gerhard

Before I get too totally absorbed by normal life, I wanted to write and say thanks again for arranging such a great trip. I only wish it had been longer -- I loved the Gamirasu, La Paloma, and Akay and hated to leave each one. We saw a lot of Turkey highlights, but I feel I only scratched the surface and could use each of those hotels as a base for many more days.

You were right about spending the last night in Istanbul. I got there as the sun was going down and got to ride into the city when it was as beautiful as it could be -- it was like a final sightseeing trip, well worth the price of the taxi. Thanks again.

Our trip was fabulous! I have recommended Insight to many people since then. The itinerary was terrific - we felt that we saw lots of ruins, but a also great variety of geographic terrain as well as many types of people. Pinar was wonderful. She is knowledgeable and very generous. Of course, just having five of us for the first week was a real treat. The hotels were fine and it was impressive that we could often order our meals off a menu! It was also reassuring to know that when someone was picking us up (for flight or other reason) they were there, and on time! This isn't always the case.

All in all, you planned a very satisfying trip and it went like clockwork. I have no suggestions for improvement. I was disappointed that we didn't meet YOU, I thought you lived in Istanbul! I should have looked at your address below.

You are more than a nice person! MUCH MUCH MUCH more! People working with tourism are full everywhere, but I've never seen someone like you. I like to travel, I read a lot, I talk a lot to people and you are someone unique in this world. Trust me.

I HAD THE BEST TRIP OF MY LIFE (well, I always come back from a trip saying the same! But that's nice!)! All trips are wonderful, but I was such afraid about traveling to Turkey alone that this trip was special! It was the best period of the whole trip! Me there, alone, doing whatever I wanted, at the time I wanted, I didn't felt lonely for not even 1 SINGLE SECOND during the whole period! It was PERFECT!!!!

Lots of people, friends and relatives, got crazy about going to Turkey after listening to my stories and seeing my pics. I already told them all about you. When they decide to go, they'll contact you and I'll tell them to say that they are my friends! But you don't need to adopt them like you did with me, otherwise I get jealous!

We have made it back to Sydney and have quickly returned to the 'rat race'', however, our memories of our holiday in Turkey and our wonderful friend 'Pinar' are still fresh in our mind. I am currently sorting through the 825 photos and trying to get them down to a number that allows us to show our friends and family what a great place Turkey is to visit.

I guess you are also back into the day to day work load providing your new groups with the same enthusiasm and knowledge that made our trip so exciting. As we said we would be pleased to see you if you ever come to Australia so keep our details on your files, you never know.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Turkey - thanks to you everything went extremely well. the car rental was perfect, the domestic flights - ditto, and the Hideaway Hotel was more than what we had hoped for. what a quaint and charming place - thank you for recommending it to us. as we wanted to be close to the Dalaman airport on our last night in that area, we ended up staying in Dalyan at another charming place called Mehtap Hotel. it was extremely clean, tastefully decorated and the host and hostess went our of their way to make us feel comfortable. even though it only had approximately 15 rooms, it had a large pool - at least twice the size of Hideaway's. I would highly recommend it for those wishing to stay in that area.

Thanks again for all of your help. we really appreciated it and will not hesitate to contact you for future assistance with our next trip to Turkey.

Dear Rina,

We have returned from Turkey and I want to thank you for your assistance in making the trip the most delightful and hassle free excursion of my life. All of us had a wonderful time. Everything went as planned with no problems or any negative experiences of any kind. The rental car was a tremendous plus to the vacation and I would recommend anyone to rent a car in Turkey if they wish to have easy access to places on their own schedule. Driving out of Izmir was a bit tricky but worked out fine and the rest of the driving was great.

The Gallipoli and Troy tours were really quite good. We visited Efes on our own as my son is a bit of an expert on the history of Efes. We loved the town of Selcuk and the Akay Hotel was as you described. Mr. Diamond is a bit of a character at the Akay but he was charming as well.

The trip to Samos and back was lengthy. Your initial recommendation to visit Chios was probably a better option but things worked out well and we were able to rent bicycles and ride to the other side of the Island (Pythagorio) and back to Samos, which was a lot of fun. Were were still able to work in a half of day at the beach in Cesme on our way out of Izmir and that was well worth the extra trip.

Gumusluk was a bit sleepy for us but we were able to go to Bitez and the beaches and entertainment there met our needs. The people at the Liman Hotel were very nice--actually everyone was very nice and helpful wherever we went. I love the way the Turkish people take their jobs seriously and take customer service seriously. If this could only be so in the U.S.

The Atinc Hotel in Kusadasi was very nice and we enjoyed the hotel in Izmir as well (the inner court yard was very nice).

Anyway, we loved the people--we were able to spend time with my son's Turkish host family and friends while in Izmir and we loved the historical sights and we loved the beauty of the Aegean coast.

I thought you might be interested in how things turned out---it was funny because as we went to a new hotel we would wonder what "Rina found for us here"!

The trip was great. I loved both the hotels, especially the Kismet.

I did ride around the Bosphorus and signed up for a tour of the last Ottoman palace (forget the name) so all my time there was well spent.

Itinerary: 7 Churches Tour

Dear Rina,
We enjoyed our tours very much and learned a great deal about the sites of those first century Christian communities. I guess one of our major “take aways” is that the first Christians were the church – the communities of people. There weren’t buildings as such and when we go to visit the sites of those “churches” we are really looking at the remains of the cities and towns where they lived. We learned a lot about the travels of Paul, John and the other apostles. We certainly can sympathize with the terrain they had to cross, the mountains, dry lands and rough territory.

Our tour guide for all 4 days was a very knowledgeable, friendly, thoughtful man – however I still can’t tell you his name. His English is heavily accented and we had difficulty understanding him. When he talked more slowly and distinctly it was easier to understand. We asked him to repeat things very often, but in hindsight, should have asked him to slow down his speech. He readily asked us for correct pronunciation or some references to Christian figures.

The Akay Otel in Selcuk was very nice. We enjoyed the rooms, the terrace restaurant, the staff – especially the young man who helped us – and the town of Selcuk.

I hope these are helpful suggestions and thank you again for arranging the tour for us. By the way we saw several groups with Insight Travel name tags, is this your group too?

Hi Rina,

Generally, everything went well, and we enjoyed our tour very much.

The hotels were OK, some better than the other (Bodrum was the best, Bergama was not as good as the other), Birgi was great (after we overcome the problem that our host didn't know a word in English, and didn't understand what is a Voucher). but all answer our basic requirements (Clean, Hot shower Etc)

As for the guides, the lady in Ephesus was very good, she tried very hard to give us a very interesting day

The guide at Pergamon was knowledgeable, but didn't try very hard.

Bottom line, we had a great time, you have a beautiful country, nice people, good road, and even a clean toilet

Thanks for your help to make this vacation so pleasant

We sincerely hope to come again, and we will recommend your services to our friend

Guides: Mustafa (Istanbul) and Omer (elsewhere) did an excellent job of guiding us around Turkey.
Hotels: Clean and comfortable; some pleasant surprises (views, amenities, etc.)
Destinations: Outstanding; we saw everything we hoped to see.
Meals: On the whole, the lunch meals ranged from good to outstanding; most of the hotel meals were average. (In Kusadasi, we skipped dinner on the second night and ate at a lokanta and it was excellent.)

Rina - just a quick thank you and to say how much we enjoyed our time in Turkey, and how pleased we were with the way things all worked together - we were always picked up, guided, and arrived as expected!
