Itinerary: Tailored Western Turkey Tour

Rina - just a quick thank you and to say how much we enjoyed our time in Turkey, and how pleased we were with the way things all worked together - we were always picked up, guided, and arrived as expected! We particularly enjoyed Biersen (our guide in Cappadocia), as well as the guide (Mustafa) who did the Troy tour and the guide on the Gallipoli tour. Our stay in the Cave hotel was also pretty spectacular.

We really appreciated your help with sorting out Rick's airline ticket issue as well.

Thanks so much,
Liana (and Bruce, Shelley, Rick)

Hi Rina,
Many thanks, and Happy New Year to you too.
I enjoyed the tour very much, though was a little unprepared for how cold it was - it snowed on the way to Troy. I will definitely recommend your services to all my friends and colleagues planning trips to Turkey.
Thanks again, and all the best.

Hi Rina,
I had a great time in Turkey and don't think that it could have been improved upon in any way. My tours went very smoothly and all the guides and drivers were both professional and polite.

Thank you for organizing my trip Rina, you did a great job and I will recommend Insight to others that are visiting Turkey.

Itinerary: Classic 10 Day Western Turkey Tour

Thanks, Rina. We really enjoyed our trip!

Guides: Mustafa (Istanbul) and Omer (elsewhere) did an excellent job of guiding us around Turkey.
Hotels: Clean and comfortable; some pleasant surprises (views, amenities, etc.)
Destinations: Outstanding; we saw everything we hoped to see.
Meals: On the whole, the lunch meals ranged from good to outstanding; most of the hotel meals were average. (In Kusadasi, we skipped dinner on the second night and ate at a lokanta and it was excellent.)
Transfers: On time and professional

Itinerary: Tailored Western Turkey Tour

Hi Rina,

I have lots of feedback for you! We had a great trip and with only one exception, we found everything to be superb--David and I were thrilled with our Turkey tour.

I'm going to tell you in detail our highlights and disappointment. In summary, we found the value of our trip was directly related to the quality of the guides we encountered. The hotels were fine, the food was great, and the transportation worked.

• Kutay was a superb guide, and we were his only tourists on 1 April. We went first to the Chora church, and that was a highlight. David got so excited, he started telling Kutay (who listened patiently) about how the Greeks built square, and how they turned their columns, and I could tell from his volubility that he was enjoying himself hugely. When people ask what was the best thing in Turkey, he responds the (deesis) mosaic with a grieving Mary petitioning Jesus for forgiveness for the world's sinners, from the Chora church. (He'd just finished telling me en route that he had no feeling for mosaics because they lacked fine shading...and he was blown away by what he saw.)
• Kutay (and his driver) took us to the Spice Market, Hagia Sofia, and Blue Mosque, as well as to a great lunch. I looked at carpets from a shop near the Blue Mosque; Kutai knows the owner who is a neighbour but made no effort whatsoever to encourage the sale. He then took me to the Sokullu Mosque near our hotel, while David went back for a rest. We had visited the Grand Bazaar on our own the day before, so we didn't feel the need to do that again. Later than evening I did buy a carpet!
• On our way to the Grand Bazaar, we had a wonderful experience with a shop owner who wanted to sell us something. Really! We were walking past, and he came out of his shop with a napkin under his chin and food in his hand, and said warmly to David, "There you are! I've been waiting for you! You're a little bit late, but it doesn't matter!" We just burst into laughter. We thought that was just fabulous! (We didn't go in, and I can't even remember what his shop sold.)
• We went to Topkapi the next morning, and David did quite well with the walking involved. Of course, the Harem was the standout. Then we took a too-expensive taxi to the harbour to do a 90-minute boat ride up the Bosphorus before we went to the airport. I wish we'd had time to visit the Cistern and the archaeological museum, and that the Suleyman the Magnificent mosque hadn't been closed, but we just didn't have enough time!
• Birsen was simply wonderful as a guide. The first morning, I asked if she could cut down a bit on the walking, since David wasn't going to be able to do a lot. She immediately made a new plan (she'd been going to take us to the Ilhara Valley) and checked it with two others you were providing services to: Tom and Alice. They were fine with the change. I was very, very grateful to Birsen. David was able to keep up, with just one "I'll wait here" episodes each day, and he felt he got a full tour.
• We thoroughly enjoyed EVERYTHING we did in Cappadocia, from the monasteries and churches in rocks, to the Caravanserai, to the pottery factory and the carpet factory (yes, we bought a porcelain platter and a second rug), to the Roman dig site not yet open to the public. It was all wonderful! Birsen also took us to little restaurants for lunches that were excellent.
• The undoubted highlight in Cappadocia was the visit to the home of our driver, Mutlu, for tea. His mother and father look after his 9-month-old daughter Naz while he and his wife are at work (she works in a bank), and they offered the four of us TEN plates of dried fruits, nuts, and seeds along with cai. That was really a treat.
• The Gamirasu hotel was great. Our room was cozy yet adequately spacious. Weather was pretty cool (we had a hailstorm the second day), but we were very comfortable. The food was probably the best we had on our holiday!
• As you know, we didn't join a regular tour in Selcuk. I'd asked Birsen, who is from Izmir, to recommend a tour guide for Ephesus, and she put us in touch with Bekir, who has a (family) travel agency. His young wife Arzu was our guide for the afternoon, and she was lovely. Again, I asked if we could moderate the distance we walked for David's sake, and she did that. David actually was pretty spry. We were blown away by the Terraced Houses, probably our favourite thing at Ephesus, but the whole site, its scale and amazing marble, were great. We also swooned over the Temple of Artemis site, and were blown away by the sheer size of the Basilica of St. John. (I was glad I'd scratched the House of the Virgin Mary from the beginning.)
• The Ephesus museum in Selcuk was even more wonderful than I'd expected. We saw it in the morning, before we actually went to Ephesus, and that worked out quite well--especially when we were visiting the Terraced Houses.
• Our guide, Murat, was perhaps the most like a walking encyclopedia of all our guides, and we loved that. He gave us such good information about the Acropolis and the society around it, that the ruins came alive. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit there, and to the Asclepion. Murat made the visits. As I look at my photos and re-read my guidebook, I realize how much richer our experience was because of the volume of information Murat gave us to view the sites with. Without such a guide, we'd have said, "Yeah, big buildings...too bad we can't figure out what they were." The facts about the library at the Acropolis just thrilled us.
Canakkale, Troy, Gallipoli
• We appreciated the Hotel Canak and its location right near the ferry, and we enjoyed the trip to Troy. The guide, Mustafa Askin, focused almost entirely on Troy VI and the story according to Homer, and I'd have liked to know more about the other Troys, but in all fairness I recognize the reason we were visiting Troy at all was Homer's Iliad. He used details from the Iliad to make the site comprehensible. He would have liked us to buy his book, but we didn't.
• Our guide to Gallipoli, Gurai was thoroughly knowledgeable about the battle sites, the strategies and tactics, objectives and failures, on both sides of the campaign. We really appreciated his attention to detail in his narratives, which made Gallipoli a real highlight. As you know, we are Kiwis only by residence, but we found the battle sites and cemeteries very moving. We're very glad we had the chance to go there, especially with Anzac Day coming up!
Back to Istanbul and the Hotel Daphne, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our trip was just too short!

And our holiday's brevity was why we really regretted the wasted we spent in an uncomfortable minivan to Pamukkale.

I'll be happy to recommend you to anyone, Rina. You have been so responsive and have such good associates in Turkey.

Thank you again and again,

Itinerary: Self-Drive and hotel bookings

Hi Rina,

Generally, everything went well, and we enjoyed our tour very much.

The hotels were OK, some better than the other (Bodrum was the best, Bergama was not as good as the other), Birgi was great (after we overcome the problem that our host didn't know a word in English, and didn't understand what is a Voucher). but all answer our basic requirements (Clean, Hot shower Etc)

As for the guides, the lady in Ephesus was very good, she tried very hard to give us a very interesting day

The guide at Pergamon was knowledgeable, but didn't try very hard.

Bottom line, we had a great time, you have a beautiful country, nice people, good road, and even a clean toilet

Thanks for your help to make this vacation so pleasant

We sincerely hope to come again, and we will recommend your services to our friend

Itinerary: 7 Churches Tour

Dear Rina,
We enjoyed our tours very much and learned a great deal about the sites of those first century Christian communities. I guess one of our major “take aways” is that the first Christians were the church – the communities of people. There weren’t buildings as such and when we go to visit the sites of those “churches” we are really looking at the remains of the cities and towns where they lived. We learned a lot about the travels of Paul, John and the other apostles. We certainly can sympathize with the terrain they had to cross, the mountains, dry lands and rough territory.

Our tour guide for all 4 days was a very knowledgeable, friendly, thoughtful man – however I still can’t tell you his name. His English is heavily accented and we had difficulty understanding him. When he talked more slowly and distinctly it was easier to understand. We asked him to repeat things very often, but in hindsight, should have asked him to slow down his speech. He readily asked us for correct pronunciation or some references to Christian figures.

The Akay Otel in Selcuk was very nice. We enjoyed the rooms, the terrace restaurant, the staff – especially the young man who helped us – and the town of Selcuk.

I hope these are helpful suggestions and thank you again for arranging the tour for us. By the way we saw several groups with Insight Travel name tags, is this your group too?

Take care and blessings on you and your work,

Itinerary: Self-Drive and hotel bookings

Dear Rina,

We have returned from Turkey and I want to thank you for your assistance in making the trip the most delightful and hassle free excursion of my life. All of us had a wonderful time. Everything went as planned with no problems or any negative experiences of any kind. The rental car was a tremendous plus to the vacation and I would recommend anyone to rent a car in Turkey if they wish to have easy access to places on their own schedule. Driving out of Izmir was a bit tricky but worked out fine and the rest of the driving was great.

The Gallipoli and Troy tours were really quite good. We visited Efes on our own as my son is a bit of an expert on the history of Efes. We loved the town of Selcuk and the Akay Hotel was as you described. Mr. Diamond is a bit of a character at the Akay but he was charming as well.

The trip to Samos and back was lengthy. Your initial recommendation to visit Chios was probably a better option but things worked out well and we were able to rent bicycles and ride to the other side of the Island (Pythagorio) and back to Samos, which was a lot of fun. Were were still able to work in a half of day at the beach in Cesme on our way out of Izmir and that was well worth the extra trip.

Gumusluk was a bit sleepy for us but we were able to go to Bitez and the beaches and entertainment there met our needs. The people at the Liman Hotel were very nice--actually everyone was very nice and helpful wherever we went. I love the way the Turkish people take their jobs seriously and take customer service seriously. If this could only be so in the U.S.

The Atinc Hotel in Kusadasi was very nice and we enjoyed the hotel in Izmir as well (the inner court yard was very nice).

Anyway, we loved the people--we were able to spend time with my son's Turkish host family and friends while in Izmir and we loved the historical sights and we loved the beauty of the Aegean coast.

I thought you might be interested in how things turned out---it was funny because as we went to a new hotel we would wonder what "Rina found for us here"!

Many thanks--Robert

Hi Rina,
We had an absolutely wonderful time in Turkey - thanks to you everything went extremely well. the car rental was perfect, the domestic flights - ditto, and the Hideaway Hotel was more than what we had hoped for. what a quaint and charming place - thank you for recommending it to us. as we wanted to be close to the Dalaman airport on our last night in that area, we ended up staying in Dalyan at another charming place called Mehtap Hotel. it was extremely clean, tastefully decorated and the host and hostess went our of their way to make us feel comfortable. even though it only had approximately 15 rooms, it had a large pool - at least twice the size of Hideaway's. I would highly recommend it for those wishing to stay in that area.

Thanks again for all of your help. we really appreciated it and will not hesitate to contact you for future assistance with our next trip to Turkey.

Itinerary: Highlights of Turkey Tour

Hi Pinar,
We have made it back to Sydney and have quickly returned to the 'rat race'', however, our memories of our holiday in Turkey and our wonderful friend 'Pinar' are still fresh in our mind. I am currently sorting through the 825 photos and trying to get them down to a number that allows us to show our friends and family what a great place Turkey is to visit.

I guess you are also back into the day to day work load providing your new groups with the same enthusiasm and knowledge that made our trip so exciting. As we said we would be pleased to see you if you ever come to Australia so keep our details on your files, you never know.

Once again, thank you for making our holiday in Turkey a wonderful experience which will long live in our memories.

lot of love

Itinerary: Tailored Western Turkey Tour

Hi Rina,

You did just an amazing job with your organisation of our trip, it went flawlessly, and although rushed as we were trying to pack in a lot in little time, we thoroughly enjoyed it, we both loved Turkey and will be back for a return visit.

The 5th May Hidrellez celebration was just fantastic. So many people and families having a great time, the entertainment was wonderful, the crowds.......well.......we don't get that in Australia and the "soccer crowd push". That was interesting to say the least. We loved dancing with the children, the openness and friendliness of everyone there, and the fact that with all those people there were no brawls, not that we saw anyway........that would NOT happen in Australia as there would be too many drunk teenagers!!! This should be made public (not that they need bigger crowds), and many people that we met there were amazed that we'd even heard of it...........what a wonderful night.

We agree with you that our time was too limited and appreciate what you fitted in our limited itinerary - Turkey has so much to offer that we didn't see. Regarding the guides in each of the five countries we travelled on our trip we found the best ones were ones with excellent local knowledge and the ability to impart that, speaking good (at least understandable) English and a tour that is not just history and ruins - as much association with the people that live in the country as possible gives you a true feel of what that country is about. The things that you remember and treasure about any trip are the things that you want more of. Examples of this on our tour were the talk with two young men in the bazaar in Aleppo in Syria talking about Muslims and their upbringing, talking to a young local boy on a camel ride in Egypt about his life, A Nubian village visit in Egypt where we walked the streets and saw their village and lifestyle (in 50 degree heat) and met a couple of young families. Sitting in street cafes in all the countries and watching and talking to the locals, in Turkey meeting a young man on his way to the 5th May Hidrellez celebration. He invited us to join him and his friends at the celebration. We met them all and spent a wonderful night with some young (30ish) Turkish people.

The guide in Istanbul was great (Kutay) as was the one off guide at Troy - he was so interesting and enthusiastic (can't remember his name but he lives there and has written books on it an is still researching). The Ephesus guide was OK.. Loved the Aesclepion, could have spent more time there, same guide for Permagon, he was good but not as good as some of the others.

Overall we loved Turkey and want to go back one day and spend more time seeing the rest of it and the people.

When we have saved up enough to go back to Turkey and Syria, we will be in touch again. We will certainly recommend you (and already have) to people we know and have met on our travels.

Once again Rina, thank you so much for your time and effort, we just loved your country. If you ever think of coming to Australia, please let us know, you will be more than welcome in our home and hopefully we can suggest places to go to in our country!

Itinerary: Highlights of Turkey Tour and Private Tours

Hi Rina, It was great to see a photo of you! Thank you so much for all your help and organisation. We had a fabulous time and really appreciate your effort.

It was wonderful to see Pinar's smiling face when we got off the bus from Fethiye. She really is a gem. Nothing was a problem and we all felt spoilt.

In fact all our guides were 'top class' in their field of expertise. Thank you for that.

Feedback on hotels, just for your interest!

Our hotel in Pamukkale was good, especially the hot springs, but we found their drinks over the top (expensive). In fact whenever the hotels priced in Euros they were very expensive.

Konya was just a hotel

We loved our 'cave' hotel in Cappadoccia - it was a great experience and the staff were excellent.(and prices in YTL)

Daphne hotel was excellent in position and rooms but a couple of the staff had attitude problems (rude!) and we did not eat or drink there as very expensive (again in Euro). We prefer to eat at local eateries anyway.

The Maydos hotel we had to fight for our seaview rooms! It was OK but the food included was not good (lunch and dinner were the same virtually) The tour organisation was excellent just the meals not.

Akay hotel was great. Lovely to have the pool in the heat and the staff went out of their way to help.

Lastly a note on the meals during our small group tour. There was too much food especially for lunch. Pinar took us to some great places for lunch in Cappadocia but we were so full we got sleepy in the afternoons and could not do our dinner justice! Probably not a complaint you get often!

All in all - a great holiday we will all remember forever. We found the Turkish people very friendly and helpful. I was surprised at the amount of English spoken and really enjoyed learning some Turkish. Jan and I visited a hamam in Istanbul and had a very positive experience (we had heard all sorts of stories before we left)

I would like to compliment all the drivers too as we all felt very safe on the roads.

Coming from Greece to Turkey, we really noticed that you are way ahead on the smoking reforms! Even Pinar has quit (again).

A last note on Greece - the tour of Athens we booked was terrible. It was supposed to be for 4 hours, started late (we were transferred in and out of buses), a large group with a guide who could not care that half of the group could not hear her or keep up. And finished after 2 hours! Just for your information.

Thanks again, it has been a pleasure organising the trip with you. I was really looked after by the powers above when I found your website. I wish you all the best for the rest of your life and I have no hesitation in referring anyone to you in the future.

Love from all of us

Thank you for setting everything up for Bob and I. We saw a great number of historical sites in a short period of time without becoming exhausted or feeling rushed. I recommended your services to some people we met on our Regent cruise, I hope they followed through and contacted you. Thank you again.

Hi Rina!!!!
Almost 1 month after coming back I'm being able to sit and send you the BIGGEST thank you I could say to someone! When people told me in Trip Advisor: Talk to her, she's a really nice person, she will help you. I COULD NEVER IMAGINE YOU COULD BE SUCH MUCH!

You are more than a nice person! MUCH MUCH MUCH more! People working with tourism are full everywhere, but I've never seen someone like you. I like to travel, I read a lot, I talk a lot to people and you are someone unique in this world. Trust me.

The way you adopted me.... oh my! It was so cute. Like I told you, you became my turkish mom! Even not being turkish! :o)
I HAD THE BEST TRIP OF MY LIFE (well, I always come back from a trip saying the same! But that's nice!)! All trips are wonderful, but I was such afraid about traveling to Turkey alone that this trip was special! It was the best period of the whole trip! Me there, alone, doing whatever I wanted, at the time I wanted, I didn't felt lonely for not even 1 SINGLE SECOND during the whole period! It was PERFECT!!!!

Lots of people, friends and relatives, got crazy about going to Turkey after listening to my stories and seeing my pics. I already told them all about you. When they decide to go, they'll contact you and I'll tell them to say that they are my friends! But you don't need to adopt them like you did with me, otherwise I get jealous!

Some pics for you to meet me!

Maybe someday we meet and I pay that big hug I promised!

Itinerary: Highlights of Turkey Tour

Hello Rina,
Our trip was fabulous! I have recommended Insight to many people since then. The itinerary was terrific - we felt that we saw lots of ruins, but a also great variety of geographic terrain as well as many types of people. Pinar was wonderful. She is knowledgeable and very generous. Of course, just having five of us for the first week was a real treat. The hotels were fine and it was impressive that we could often order our meals off a menu! It was also reassuring to know that when someone was picking us up (for flight or other reason) they were there, and on time! This isn't always the case.

All in all, you planned a very satisfying trip and it went like clockwork. I have no suggestions for improvement. I was disappointed that we didn't meet YOU, I thought you lived in Istanbul! I should have looked at your address below.

Thanks, Rina. We'll long remember our discovery of the magical country called Turkey.

Before I get too totally absorbed by normal life, I wanted to write and say thanks again for arranging such a great trip. I only wish it had been longer -- I loved the Gamirasu, La Paloma, and Akay and hated to leave each one. We saw a lot of Turkey highlights, but I feel I only scratched the surface and could use each of those hotels as a base for many more days.

You were right about spending the last night in Istanbul. I got there as the sun was going down and got to ride into the city when it was as beautiful as it could be -- it was like a final sightseeing trip, well worth the price of the taxi. Thanks again.

Dear Rina,
It really was a wonderful trip. Of course I loved the hotels you choose and the amazing natural beauty and cultural history of Turkey. An unexpected bonus for me was to discover how much I liked the people we met. Not only were the guides and hotel keepers very helpful, but even perfect strangers were incredibly kind to us, helping us to find our way in strange cities. Like Sharon, I enjoyed the sunset in Istanbul my last night there, which I could see from the rooftop restaurant of my hotel as a backdrop for the planes taking off from the

Itinerary: Pergamon Tour

Dear Rina,gerhard-e
Yes, I was planning to write you to provide some feedback. Overall, it was a good tour, and the drop off at Izmir's airport worked out perfectly. I can and will recommend it to others. The guide was fine, and the driver drove securely and safely. Lunch was ample and tasty. The location of the acropolis and theater is stupendous, together with the wild flowers and blooming thistles, it was a photographic paradise of views and colors, but not enough time to savor it. Even with the other tour the viewing time available was for me often a bit short, not enough time to read some of the informational signs, revisit some spots, look at my notes,

or take more detailed pictures rather than just quick, general snapshots. I suppose, if I wanted to do that I would need to plan my own personalized tour, though at this time I still would prefer to leave the transportation and hotel arrangements to others. I would like to look into that though. Still, for my first introduction to western Turkey I had a wonderful time with lots of "Wow" moments that I am writing down. Many of these also involved enjoying the hospitality and friendliness of the Turkish people.

Thank you for your excellent help organizing this part of my trip!

Hi Rina,

We enjoyed our day-tour of the Bosphorus and Dolmabahce Palace very much. Our guide was very professional and knowledgeable. Since the Egyptian Market is closed on Sunday, he took us to a local bazaar which was a great shopping opportunity and fun too. As it turned out, no one else joined our group of 6 people, so it really became our private tour. We chose that tour as my husband and I have been to many of the “must see” places in Istanbul and this tour took us to places new to us as well as to our friends. The park at Camlica Hill is a treasure. We were able to observe “real” Turks enjoying their Sunday picnic and a wedding couple. Riding the ferry was an inexpensive and fun way to see the palaces and shoreline of the Bosphorus. Our guests were fascinated by the Whirling Dervishes too. A word of advice there is to arrive early as seats fill up quickly.

We’ll contact you when we bring our friends who couldn’t make it this trip.

Best regards,
Sherry and Asim B.

Itinerary: Tailored Western Turkey Tour and Self-Drive

Dear Rina
We are finally home and slowly recovering from jetlag. I wanted to tell you how amazing our time in Turkey was - totally thanks to you. Every little detail of your organisation worked so well. Every hotel, every transfer, bus trip, group tour, private guide, connections - absolutely wonderful. So thank you very much for making Turkey such a fantastic, surprising, amazing adventure for us. We loved learning about the ancient as well as more modern history. The ruins and the stories behind them were incredible. The people everywhere were friendly, hospitable and helpful. We loved the coast, particularly Kas. Our very long day tour of Gallipoli was wonderful - we had a great guide who made it a very moving experience. And of course Istanbul is an amazingly vibrant city.
We hope to return someday. Again thank you so very much for your fantastic help.
kind regards,
Louise and Michael C.

(I must tell you that I read a fantastic novel while I was there which was set in the area around Fethiye called "Birds without wings" by Louis de Bernieres. It is a great story as well as giving lots of the history of WW1 and the war of Independence and the biography of Ataturk. It was amazing to learn the facts during the day and then reading the fiction at night. Both complemented each other and really added to my enjoyment of the country.)

Itinerary: 10-Days Classical Western Turkey Tour

Hi Rina,
Barry and I had a wonderful time in Turkey. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and loved Turkey and its people. We saw lots and did lots and loved it all. It would have been great for us if there could have been a little more down time so that we could have just had time to really take in some of the culture around us. I think that a couple of extra days might have allowed for this. We loved our little hotel in both Ankara and Istanbul. Our guide there was super and we enjoyed meandering there as well. All in all it was very well done.
Thank you for all your effort.

Itinerary: Istanbul and Ephesus Shore Excursions

Rina, I wanted to let you know our guide for Istanbul, Erol, was wonderful. He made extremely efficient use of our time and gave us good pointers for great photo vantage points. We were extremely happy with his services.
Everything was fine with Ephesus and Priene and others. I went on the Priene and 2 others sites tour. The guide and bus were waiting for us when our ship arrived, our guide was young but worked hard and was enthusiastic.
The driver for the Priene and other sites tour that I was on deserve praise for his excellent service.
It was recommendations from that website that referred us to you and we were most happy that we followed those recommendations in asking you to arrange our shore excursions for Turkey. It was a pleasure working with you.

Itinerary: Hotel, flight bookings and transfers

Rina, just wanted to let you know that we have returned home from Turkey and had an absolutely wonderful trip. Everything went incredibly well from the ease of the transfers to the great hotels you booked us at. We also wanted to let you know that the Titanic was fantastic. The food there was delicious and even exceeded the expectations of my Turkish Uncle and cousin.

Itinerary: Cappadocia Package with Kismet Cave Hotel

Dear Rina
I had a terrific time, everything went like clockwork. The hotel was just what I ordered. The owner - Farouk - even gave me a lift to the bus station to catch the bus to Fethiye on his scooter - suitcase, me and backpack hanging on for dear life! Sadly no photograph.

The guides were very good, particularly Farouk who had a terrific depth of knowledge not just about Cappadocia but also Turkey's history. Birsen was great and as there were only a few of us on the two days she was my guide, the group was able to get to know each other.

Met quite a few people during my stay in Goreme and hope to keep in touch with some of them.

Many, many thanks for all your arrangements.

Itinerary: Istanbul Tours and Kas-Antalya Gulet Cruise

Rina -
On behalf of the entire group of families, I want to thank you for such a tremendous trip to Turkey. Every detail was handled perfectly and we were thrilled with our guides and accommodations. But I must say the gulet 'Grand Acar' was far beyond our expectations. The captain was charming and flexible, the crew attentive but not intrusive and the cook was outstanding! Thirteen people were pleasantly surprised by the delicious meals served 3 times a day. We couldn't have been happier.
We were also fortunate that the weather was so mild that our dear friends the Millers did not need to leave the boat early. The boat was gorgeous and the ride incredibly smooth.

Thank you again for making our trip so memorable. I will happily refer you to our friends.

Itinerary: Cappadocia Package with Lalezar Hotel

We had a really good trip. Thank you for all of your arrangements. The hotel was great. I see what you mean about the steps! It is quite a climb - but really very nice. We got some really good photos. I will let you know when I put them up on my web site.
I am doing a talk on Turkey at our camera club next week - I have entered a few of my previous Cappadocia photos at the club, and the people were so interested in the photos, that they asked me to do a talk. Hope you get more clients!
Hopefully I will be able to do another trip to Turkey so time. It is one of my favorite travel destinations!

Itinerary: Tailored Western Turkey Tour

Hi Rina
I was very impressed with the way everything went, I have been to a lot of countries and been on lots of excursions but don't think I have ever been so impressed with the way the trips were all run for us during our stay in Turkey .. it was the military like precision in which everything was carried out that I found impressive no waiting around , no I'm sorry we don't have you down on our list ..( all things that I have encountered in previous countries )

The guide in Troy really enjoyed his work and it showed in the way he conducted his tour , but all the guides were very good.
If you want a negative then possibly the hotel on the first night was a bit noisy as we were on the first floor right above the air con generators but on our return visit to the hotel we had a different room and it was much quieter.

so , very happy all in all and thanks for arranging the trips for us

Itinerary: Tailored Western Turkey Tour

First off, thanks so much for doing a really great job of arranging our trip. Because I normally prefer to book all of my own travel, I have only used a travel agent once in the last 10 years (and it turned out horribly). My experience with you and your partners was outstanding. I will have no problem recommending Insight Travel to anyone booking a trip to Turkey. Pretty much everything went smoothly – or at least everything that you could have anticipated.

All of the hotels were great. We particularly liked the Su Hotel in Bodrum, followed closely by the Megara in Istanbul. All of the guides were top notch.

Thanks again for all of the help,

Itinerary: Ancient Kingdoms Tour

Hello Rina
We are now back from our holidays and Turkey was definitely a highlight. Our tour guide Suleyman was excellent. He certainly new his history and made it come alive.

The travel arrangements were well executed and the driver was very good. We covered a lot of territory, I believe something like 2100 km. so by the end we were glad to relax for a couple of days. We enjoyed the variety of accommodations that we had stayed at thru out the trip. Nothing was too much trouble for our guide or driver and with only 3 of us we got undivided attention. It was an excellent tour and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Once again, Thank you

I am so sorry for taking so long to write to you. I hope that you have not forgotten us! We were in Cappadocia the week of the 7th of August 2008 and stayed in the Lalezar Hotel, Goreme, with my son Hardy.

I just want to thank you for making our visit to Cappadocia so wonderful. Without you it would not have been the same! You made it so interesting and your amazing knowledge of the history of the area and also the ancient history connected to that area was really wonderful.

Once again thank you for all the effort you put in to making a trip wonderful for your visitors. We will surely never forget it!

Many kind regards

Itinerary: 8 Day Classic Western Turkey Tour + Blue Cruise

Dear Rina,
My husband and I would like to thank you very much for helping us organize such a wonderful trip to Turkey!

I feel so lucky to have stumbled upon Insight Travel while looking for a Turkish tour company online. I was immediately impressed with your professional, prompt and informative responses to my many questions about Turkey and the tour you ultimately planned for us.

We saw some amazing places (e.g. Cappadocia, Istanbul, Ephesus, the Mediterranean while on a Turkish boat,) and were impressed by the history, diversity, culture, beauty and friendliness of the people in Turkey. The hotels we stayed in, the food, transportation to and from various locations and the tour guides who informed us of and lead us through various places were excellent. We were very happy with the overall service, value and experience we had while on our vacation as provided by Insight Travel and recommend it highly to others.

Jason and I will never forget our trip to Turkey! We are so glad you helped plan our adventure abroad. It was incredible!

Hi Rina
This is the third that Erol has done for me and I have known him for about 6 years now. I am happy with his work. If I see any problems arising then I run interference for both the people in my group and for Erol. It works well as I can usually see it coming.

I will be happy to work with you again in 2 years time. I bring a tour over every 2 years, although Erol would like it to be every year. Personally I would too, but I just get too busy.

Mustapha, the driver was a real treasure. He looked after us as well.

Thank you for all of your hard work in making the tour a memorable trip. The ladies are still talking about it.

Itinerary: Grand Tour of Western Turkey

Dear Rina,
We also had a great day on the cruise. Thank you again for all your unstinting hospitality in Kas. Everything was beautifully organized even the crazy 2.30am transfer to Ataturk Airport last Saturday morning. Ismet was a very knowledgeable and personable guide and 'Nedo' was a wonderfully resourceful driver who organized lots of little treats that we wouldn't otherwise have experienced. We loved his comfortable new Mercedes van. The sights and sites were fantastic. Turkey is a stunningly beautiful country and Istanbul is truly one of the world's great cities. The tour was fabulous and the whole experience was unforgettable! Please rest assured that we have already started telling friends, family, neighbors and colleagues at work that if they ever wish to visit Turkey that they should first and foremost check out Insight Travel. We would thoroughly recommend Insight. Thanks again for your patience answering all our e-mail questions leading up to the trip. Mary sends her best wishes.

Your excellent services ensured that we had a really great holiday and I have been raving about your excellent help to one and all. Our guide in Istanbul was also excellent...

Itinerary: Highlights of Turkey Tour

Hi Rina,
The tour was excellent. We were lucky to have a small group of very nice people. The van was comfortable, we had a very good driver who made us feel at ease during the trip and Erol was a great tour guide. He was very attentive to our needs and certainly knows his history. We also enjoyed his sense of humour. The hotels most of the time were reasonable, particularly as were were only there overnight most nights.

I thought the highlight was Cappadocia. It was such an interesting and beautiful place and the Gamirasu Cave Hotel where we stayed was exceptional. It was so beautiful with beautiful surroundings and the dinner was the best.

It was a busy tour but had to be to cover all the places we visited. All in all I thought it was a great tour and it helped having such nice people, including Erol and the driver with us all the way.

Thanks for organising it.

Dear Rina,
We would like to thank you for all the organisation for our trip through Turkey and say how pleased we were with the accommodation and structure of the daily sightseeing. Our guide Erol was knowledgeable, entertaining and very helpful with any personal issues during our trip and driver Mustafa was very friendly and a safe driver.
