Meet your guide at the lobby between 8:10 – 8:45 Departure. We will pay a visit to the incredible Saint Sophia (Hagia Sofia) which was built in the 6th Century by the famous architects: Anthemius of Tralles and Isidore of Miletus. There are 140 columns inside which were brought from different places, including Egypt and Ephesus. No two of them are exactly alike and they feature monograms of the emperors Justinian and Theodora. We continue for a visit of the Blue Mosque which was built by Mehmet Aga.The architect has applied the ideas of his master Sinan, aiming for overwhelming size, majesty and splendor. There are over 20,000 tiles from Iznik in the interior and 6 minarets. We will walk the Hippodrome and see the Fountain of Wilhelm, the Serpent Column and the Egyptian Obelisk of Thutmose III. We visit the lovely little building of CaferagaMedresesi tucked away in the shadow of the Hagia Sofia, which was designed by Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan on the orders of CaferAğa, Süleyman the Magnificent's chief black eunuch. Our walk leads us now to the Topkapi Palace (Entry fee for the Harem is not included) which has 5 km of surrounding walls and sits atop the promontory of Sarayburnu, a strategic point being on the Golden Horn, Bosphorus and Marmara Sea. We pass through the Imperial Gate and continue through courtyards to the other gates into the core of the Palace. In the treasury you can see the “Spoonmaker Diamond” and emerald encrusted swords, also visit the chamber with relics of the Prophet, the privy chambers of the Sultans with their luxurious tiles. We hope you will enjoy the last visit of the day to the Istanbul Grand Bazaar, originally built by Mehmet the Conquerer in the 15th century. It has over 4000 shops and 60 covered alleys. **Note that on Sunday the Grand Bazaar is closed and on Tuesday the Topkapi Palace is closed.
